NEET PG Counselling 2024 will be done in three rounds and a stray vacancy round. Last Year, Centre’s Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has allowed the students to upgrade their seats till Round 3 instead of Round 2. It means, if any student is allotted a seat in the NEET PG Counselling Round 2, they can opt for a seat upgradation and join the Round 3 seat. The decision is taken to benefit the students. When the seat allotment was allowed till the second round only, students were having no option but to accept the seats. With the new norms, MCC has given the opportunity to the student to try their luck till the third round.
However, the revised norms also state that if students do not join the seats allotted to them in the second or third round, they will lose their refundable deposit amount.
NEET PG Counselling registration will be done for all four rounds of counselling. Candidates allotted seats in Rounds 1, 2 will be having options to upgrade the seats in the subsequent counselling round.
It is mandatory for the students to accept the allotted seat in the stray vacancy round.
“If a candidate is allotted a seat in Stray round, he has to join the allotted seat/college else he/she shall be debarred from NEET counselling of MCC for subsequent 1 years along with forfeiture of fees,” the MCC information handout reads.

NEET PG 2024 Counselling Process
NEET PG 2024 Registration: Instructions for Filling Online Application From
Candidates must follow these steps to fill out the NEET PG 2024 Registration online application instructions form. Candidates are advised to check the complete procedure before applying for the form.

Step 1: Registration
- Candidates interested in participating in the counselling of NEET PG 2024 must register themselves on the official website of the MCC.
- New registrations shall be approved before each round except stray Round
- However, candidates who have registered for NEET PG counselling 2024 do not need to register for the second time.
Step 2: Registration fee
- In order to participate in the counselling of NEET PG 2024, the applicant must pay the registration fee.
- The registration fee for NEET PG 2024 counselling is required to be paid online via net banking, credit card, or debit card.

Step 3: Choice Filling
- Applicants now have to choose the preferred course and colleges from the MCC list.
- Candidates can have as many choices as they want to. The options will be shown on the left side of the screen and will move to the right side of the page once selected. Candidates can add or remove them from the list.
- Candidates are advised to review the choices made before sending them. They must also hold a copy of the choices made for future use.
Step 4: Seat allotment list
- MCC releases NEET PG seat allotment result in the PDF format.
- The seats are allocated on the basis of the choices to be filled by the candidates and all India ranks.
- Candidates with their names in the list can download their seat allocation letter by logging into the registered account on the official website.
Step 5: Reporting to the institute
- Applicants who will be given a seat in the NEET PG 2024 counselling will have to report to the allocated institute.
- They must carry all of their certificates in their original form along with a self-tested copy.
