- Get your admit card, application form downloaded as pdf – Get a pdf copy from your NBE login and send the pdfs to your email ID / save them in google drive. NBE exam login usually gets deactivated before counseling.
- The info in the application form will be used for MCC All India counseling registration (Mother’s name, Application number, Roll no, DoB etc. as exactly provided in your application form).
- The admit card will be required for admission. Keep the hardcopy of the one you took to the exam center safe. Also have the softcopy pdf saved in email or google drive.

Admit Card (issued by NBE)
Results / Rank Letter (issued by NBE)
Mark sheets of MBBS 1st, 2nd and 3rd Exams
MBBS Degree Certificate / Provisional Certificate
Internship completion certificate from the Head of Institution or College
Permanent / Provisional registration certificate (Provisional applicable only for candidates who complete internship in 2022)
SSC or HSC certificate or Birth certificate as DoB proof. One of these is enough.
ID proof (Aadhaar or Voter ID or Passport or Driving Licence)
Category certificates for All India counseling if applicable – SC/ST, EWS, OBC or PwD certificate
OBC certificate has to be OBC NCL certificate issued for Central Institutes (Non creamy layer and part of the central list of OBCs)
EWS certificate has to be EWS certificate issued as per Central norms
3). Other certificates (not required for admission during All India counseling, may be required for some state counselings during or before choice filling, and some may be required only after commencement of course)
a)Migration certificate – If you are joining PG in a university which is different from theUniversity in which you did your MBBS, then a migration certificate would be required to be submitted to the PG university. The migration certificate is to be taken from the MBBS university. If your MBBS university is ready to give one now, and you expect to apply for other University seats, you can get this now itself.
b) Eligibility certificate – If you are joining PG in a university which is different from the University in which you did your MBBS, then an eligibility certificate would be required for admission. The eligibility certificate is to be taken from the PG university by submitting your migration certificate (taken as above from MBBS univ) and other relevant documents.
- You need to have your migration certificate from MBBS university to apply for an eligibility certificate in the PG seat University.
- If both MBBS univ and PG Univ are the same no need of the migration / eligibility certificates.
c) Note that the migration / eligibility certificate requirements are not state specific but University specific.
d) For All India counseling – The migration / eligibility certificate is not mandatory during admissions and can be submitted later after the final round.
e) For some state counselling (Tamil Nadu, Karnataka etc.) an eligibility certificate from the state govt university (TN MGR univ, RGUHS etc. respectively) is required for attending the state quota counseling. So, if you are applying for these state counselings check on how to get the eligibility certificates online. Some universities may take 30 days+ to provide eligibility certificates.
f) NOC from registered state medical council – If you are already registered in a particular state medical council and if you join PG in another state, you have to register yourself in the medical council of the state where you would be doing MD/MS. You would need an NOC from your currently registered state medical council for this new state MC registration. This can be done after the final upgrade (i.e. after course commencement after you are sure that the seat is your final seat through NEET PG 2024). So do not need to worry about it till your seat is final.
g) Gap certificate – Relevant only for Maharashtra candidates to my knowledge. (self affidavit of gap between completion of qualification and joining next course)
h) Candidates claiming NRI (to avail NRI seats under Deemed Universities in All India counseling) may need to get the required certificates. The certificates are mentioned in the last page of this document (for All India counseling). This might take some time (embassy certificate etc.) and so apply for them on priority if not done till now.
For some state counselings, the criteria may be different for NRI seats or private institute seats.
i.) There might be other certificates specific to state counseling. Will try to collate those and share them as and when notifications are shared.
When are the certificates required ?
For All India counseling certificates are not required at the time of registration / choice filling.
The certificates will be required only at the time of admission.Some state counselings have an offline (manual) certificate verification process before choice filling. In such cases certificates may be required after registration and before choice filling / allotment. This is state specific and you would get to know from state notifications.
At the time of Reporting
for ALL India Counselling and in most state counseling all certificates are required in original for admission, and the institute has to confirm during admission that all certificates have been received by them in ORIGINAL.
- If your original documents are with a bonded institute / state DME, or an employed hospital, please find out the process of getting them back or ensure that you take steps to get them at the earliest.
- The certificates will be deposited at the institute at the time of admission to avoid seat blocking. This is to ensure that a candidate does not hold two admissions at a time. All India counseling and most state counselings follow this process.
6)Usually there are issues with invalid medical registration (provisional registration validity being over), category certificates not being available, original degree certificates lying with bond institute / not yet provided by university etc. Ensure you take the extra effort to get all certificates.
